Recommendation ITU-T L.1603, “Key Performance Indicators for Smart and Sustainable Cities“, which was approved as a draft in April 2016, aims to measure the city’s intelligence and sustainability and has been developed in conjunction with the ITU, UNECE and other organizations of the United Nations. The recommendation defines a set of useful indicators to quantify the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals of the City (SDGs).
València was selected as a city of reference to evaluate the suitability of this new recommendation. In this sense, València has collaborated with the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) offering feedback on the evaluation process and has contributed to the improvement of the regulations themselves.
