In this project the luminous intensity of the lighting in the square of Plaza del Tossal is related to the amount of noise. In the face of an increase in noise in the square, the intensity of the light decreases, to nudge people into quietness.
This integration of the sound level and lighting measurements by means of the city platform will make it possible to mitigate the noise nuisance suffered by the residents of the aforementioned square.

This basic functionality can be subsequently extended to alert authorities or reflect relevant milestones in a report. In addition, the simple fact of all the noise information being stored and managed by the VLCi platform, will add to its BigData repositiories, so that future studies on the historical data can be made.
