València obtained from the World Council on City Data (WCCD) the Platinum Certification ISO 37120 “Sustainable development in cities. Indicators for urban services and quality of life”.
The certificate, the highest that the institution grants in terms of Sustainable Development in Cities, evaluates more than 100 homogeneous indicators that measure the efficiency of public services and the quality of life of citizenship.
This milestone is another step in the strategy of València Smart City, which aims to transform València into a sustainable, transparent and open city.
Different indicators related to the key areas of smart cities, Economy, Governance, Environment, Mobility and Citizen Welfare, are reflected in this standard, which allows València to be compared to other cities worldwide.

WCCD’s Open Data Portal (WCCD Global Cities Registry ™) provides a comparative vision among cities, enabling citizens to select and compare indicators, measure their progress over time and draw comparative lessons from other cities both globally and at the local level. The study of the indicators will allow to establish collaboration bonds between cities, knowledge exchange and the management of good governance.
